omfg the gameplay is just like diablo 2. Only they enhanced it to unspeakable awesomeness. I dont have it recorded, but im sure a recorded demo will be up soon.

Alright so after watching the gameplay, I'm not a fan of the drastic change in art style. The cinematic looks great. But as far as the art they chose for the actual game. It looks like they opted for a more cartoonish style. Diablo got less scary and brutal with Diablo II and its like it did the same thing again with Diablo III. Its less eerie and more flashy. I find it hard to watch this totally cartoon animated witch doctor character kill all these animals and them making such a squishy sound effect.

And its like skills like whirlwind don't have you feeling each blow dealt to enemies as a player. All the sound effects were just so damn squishy... I want to hear the blood spill. I want to hear heads crack. I want to hear monsters die. I want bones to break.
Everything is so squishy and less dark.

I don't know. We'll see where they go with it.

it looks awesome, and of course there will be many changements, so dont take that gameplay for granted.

D3 is/will be made by a completely different team than made D2. Bill Roper and those other guys left Blizzard to form Flagship Studios, which released Hellgate London (which I believe sucked) and Mythos (I played the beta- it seemed fun).

I'm reminded of the Guitar Hero series. GH1 was the building block and GH2 was a fucking masterpiece. Then Neversoft and Activision made some sort of a buyout and they made GH3, a game which I HATE HATE HATE. Harmonix, who was the driving force behind GH1/2, made Rock Band, a game that I absolutely love.

My point? Blizzard had better not fuck this up. I'll reserve judgement until I see some gameplay footage.

why dont you look at the gameplay video?

At first glance the skills made it look like guild wars, which sucked.
After watching the whole video it looks awesome though.
Two big things:
1. Hope the items aren't binded like in WoW, and drops are FFA.
2. Hope they make enough from WoW to make this free online like D1 and D2.

If they made this completely instance/dungeon based like Guild Wars, I'm gonna cry. Dynamic World pvp at any point still better be involved.

Yeah. But that one boss like one hit killed the one guy by picking him up and ripping off his head so. I don't know how that would work on hardcore.

well if there isnt a hardcore from the start, im sure well be the first in hardcore and the pwning the ladder right away

The thing I do have faith in blizzard about is making the game better than what is out there. When they made WC3 they innovated some good ideas and borrowed some things from SC that made the game work well. When they made WoW, they borrowed things from all MMOs, used the Warcraft lore and created a monster of an MMO that changed the face of that whole scene. I imagine D3 would take all the good parts of D2, Guild Wars and anything simliar and combine it into D3.

This is looking amazing!! im down for moving to a new site and guild involvment. (even though its probally gonna take more than a year) Still we've got something to look forward to!

I'm also thinking that "Pick up and Bite off your head" move, is kinda like a "Fatality" type move in Mortal Combat. He probably can't do that type of shit right off the bat, but if you're below say... 10% health, watch out for his jaws + your balls.
